LOVED THIS - for about 2 minutes, hundreds of birds circled our path - incredible - you could almost feel them breathing!

....sooo good!

Kanoa enjoying the 'freedom' of the Open Range!

Lamar, CO – Hasty, CO
16 miles today – 1633 miles total!

I can’t begin to explain the emotion behind the early morning moments walking ‘our’ small-town roads. These slices of pavement, rock, and dirt get lost in the open expanse of ‘our’ prairie country… it leaves me speechless. It is – for that moment – a portal into a world where birds, grasslands, oxygen, water, and everything around feels free and untouched – it speaks to you as if it will stay this way forever.

Stress is minimal – fear is a blur – and love for others, for God, for Earth, and for yourself seem to root every thought.

I understand country-folk…
It’s almost as if they are a couple degrees closer to God out here…

Onto Las Animas, CO tomorrow!

“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.”
– Henry David Thoreau
